Like some of the most wonderful gifts, Aspen Bleu was unwrapped from a small package. 31-year-old Avoyelles Parish native and Pineville resident Kristen Lemoine took her entrepreneurial spirit and left a corporate job to begin a new life as her own employer. She took a few wares made by local and regional artisans, put together a kiosk shop in the Alexandria Mall and Aspen Bleu was born. A year later she expanded into a brick and mortar storefront situated on prime real estate near the mall where she began.

Aspen Bleu is a gift shop where Kristen says she wants her customers not only to shop, but to celebrate. Her store features a variety of unique items from baby clothes to local art to jewelry. Kristen works with independent local artists, as well as artists from across the country to provide a selection of small-batch products unrivaled in Central Louisiana. And, everything in Aspen Bleu is hand-selected by Kristen herself.

What was once a small dream is growing into a large presence in Central Louisiana commerce. While she'd love to discover the next Mignon Faget, Kristen is just as happy to support local and regional artisans and craftsman who aren't looking to be the next big thing, but who simply want their work to bring joy to others.

Opening Aspen Bleu also allowed Kristen to fulfill the creative void in her life. Now, if a customer wants something and can't find it, Kristen will make it. That's more than service. It's spirit.
